Some 80 active physicians serve on the hospitals medical staff - 90 percent of whom are board certified, representing approximately 21 specialties. Wilson Medical Center includes a same-day surgery center, 24-hour emergency department, birth center, outpatient laboratory service, satellite primary care centers, wellness department, palliative care center, gastroenterology/endoscopy center, cardiac catheterization center, sleep laboratory, and an imaging center that includes advanced diagnostic procedures such as MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound, bone densitometry and stereotaxis.

Healthsouth Surge Center of Wilson also provides outpatient surgery services to the residents of Wilson County and the surrounding areas. Medical appointments can be scheduled throughout practices in Wilson and nearby satellite clinics - including Kenly, Stantonsburg, Elm City, Middlessex and Bailey.

The Wilson County Health Department and Wilson-Greene Mental Health Center provide a full range of health and mental health services.
