Wilson Named One of Top 20 Small Markets in the South
Southern Business & Development

Southern Business & Development, a quarterly magazine tracking the economy in the South, ranked Wilson as one of the top 20 small markets in the South. Wilson tied for 8th place as reported in Southern Business and Development's Top 20 Small Markets in the South, 1992-2001. The article stated:

"Wilson County, NC boasts a very strong industrial base with companies such as Bridgestone-Firestone, Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., Wallace Computer Services and Kidde Aerospace. With over 1 million square feet of pharmaceutical manufacturing space, most of which is less than five years old, WIlson has had particular success with bio-tech and life science industries. This small market, located just east of Raleigh on I-95, is home to Merck and Purdue Pharmaceuticals, as well as Eon Pharma, Leiner Health Products and Southern Testing Laboratories. Jointly, these companies employ over 1,200 people in their Wilson facilities."

Wilson EDC Shell Bldg. #6

Livedo Purchases Shell Building 6 for Manufacturing Facility

David Woodard, Chairman of the Board of Wilson County Properties, welcomed LiveDo USA to Wilson and most especially to Wilson Corporate Park.  Livedo bought Shell Building Number 6, a building that was constructed in an ongoing program headed up by Wilson County Properties and supported by both Wilson County and the City of Wilson.  The building was nothing more than walls and a roof.  There wasn’t even a floor.  It was designed to be easily up-fitted to the specifications of the new owner.  This program supplements site development in the Wilson Corporate Park offering manufacturing buildings ready for up-fitting.

We are so pleased that the new owner of our building is LiveDo USA and love what they are doing with our Shell Building Number 6.  They are turning it into a working facility, providing jobs for our people and producing quality of life products for people everywhere.
